Dr. Rausch's Story
Dr. Rausch’s early years were spent in Evans Georgia where he attended Greenbrier High School. He ventured a bit from home when he attended Covenant College, a private Christian liberal arts college in Lookout Mountain where he studied Biology and Chemistry with the end-goal to attend dental school in Augusta at the prestigious Medical College of Georgia (Dental College of Georgia).
After graduating in the heart of “The Great Recession” in 2009, when jobs were scarce, Dr. Jeffrey David Rausch felt blessed to join his Aunt and Uncle, practicing dentists in Stone Mountain, Georgia, while he and his wife, Jeanne, considered practice opportunities outside of metro-Atlanta. Through a friend, they soon learned of a retiring dentist in Dalton, Georgia who was seeking a dentist to take over the care of his patients. The Rausch’s enjoyed the next 7 years in Dalton, and 3 children later began literally hearing the call (Grandparents can do a lot of calling) and the urge to get back closer to home and early roots.
Knowing this move was likely to be their last career move, the Rausch’s considered many opportunities that would settle the family closer to home and support Dr. Rausch’s preference to be the dentist serving a smaller town. When Dr. Rausch met Lincolnton dentist Dr. Greg Griffin in 2018, who was leaving Lincolnton to accept a teaching position at the Dental College of Georgia, they found a perfect match. It was a particular honor for Dr. Rausch to be selected to continue the legacy of quality care for the Lincolnton family of patients as the practice was originally founded by Dr. Allgood in 1974. We look forward to celebrating the practice’s 50 year birthday in 2024!
Dr. Rausch shares much in common with many of his patients. He enjoys the serenity of driving in the Lincolnton countryside, little traffic, and small-town relationships. Yet, his passion to remain on the cutting edge of his profession, frequently taking continuing education courses, is easily met due to the close proximity to Augusta. As husband and Dad to three, “Jeff time” is not often. However, when there are those moments for self-indulgence, Jeff can be found tinkering in auto mechanics, riding his bike, or teaching his eldest to “catch a wave” on the closest beach expecting that rare big wave.
