Do you take my insurance?

Yes we do.  We accept most insurances and file claims as a courtesy to our patients.  Although we are not “in network” to most insurances we have found that patients are still able to achieve the care they need without undue financial burden.  We believe we can tailor a plan of care that is more in line with a patients’ needs and expectations when not constrained by an insurance contract.  If you have further questions about your insurance plan please call our office.

I am afraid of the dentist, what can you do to help me?

At Lincolnton Family Dentistry we understand that the dentist office can be perceived as a scary place and that may people have had bad experiences in the past at other dental offices. Dr. Rausch has a 3 principled approach for making dental visits as easy and relaxing as possible.

Principle 1 is about priority. Gentleness is simply PRIORITY at Lincolnton Family Dentistry. Caring is the first step to success.

Principle 2 is education and skill. There are ways to make dentistry easier with technique, materials, and medicine choices. Before you ever have dental treatment started, Dr. Rausch will have a detailed conversation with you to learn about your past dental experiences. Everyone is different and solutions exist for patients who have trouble opening, getting numb, or simply dealing with dental anxiety. If laughing gas (Nitrous Oxide) has helped you in the past, or you would like to try it, we’ll talk about laughing gas and other choices, too. Additionally, making dentistry easy is about communication. You will at all times be able to tell us if you are feeling sensitivity. If so, we’ll stop what we are doing and work on getting you comfortable before proceeding.

The third principle is solid judgment. After gaining a detailed medical and dental history, Dr. Rausch believes there is a risk that dental treatment could be difficult without the support of techniques such as IV sedation, Dr Rausch will refer you to one of our trusted specialists. This is not often necessary, but we share this because you deserve to be confident and relaxed at the dentist, and our commitment is to give you the best care clinically and emotionally.

Why do you choose to not be “in network”?

The answer to this question would take a semester in a business management class to address adequately.  What the answer boils down to is this:  We cut no corners at Lincolnton Family Dentistry to give you the best experience with the longest lasting result. The quality of work that we produce not only meets, but typically exceeds the standards established by the Georgia Board of Dentistry.  We reserve not only the time needed to complete a procedure, but also build in a little extra time, should the patient require it, to do our best job or if the patient needed us to go a little slower, for their comfort.  We use local labs that only use the highest grade materials, produce custom work when fabricating “fake teeth” that feels natural inside your mouth, and we never ship our lab work out of the country.  We purchase the most highly rated dental materials for our in-house restorative work.  To give a full service costs a full fee.  Frankly, it doesn’t make sound business sense to carry the full overhead and reduce revenue.  If we were producing a retail product that didn’t affect health and happiness, the math would make sense.   Inevitably, no dentistry “lasts forever;” if chomped, chewed and grinded on for enough years, dentistry will need to be redone.  No surface or filling beats the solid enamel that most teeth erupt with.  However, by cutting no corners, we know that the dental procedures you walk around with from our office are bound to last the longest.
